The Perineal Suture Model Single Right Cut offers midwives a realistic and safe platform to hone their suturing skills. This model lets midwives improve their techniques without worrying about time or patient safety. They don’t have to practice on live patients. Importantly, with three variations available—right Posterior Incision, Left Posterior Incision, and Median Incision—midwives can choose the model that best suits their training needs. Consequently, this model mainly benefits teaching, providing a hands-on learning experience in a controlled environment. Durable and Advanced PVC Material The Perineal Suture Model, which features a Single Right Cut, is meticulously constructed from advanced PVC material, thus ensuring durability and longevity. Moreover, it closely mimics human tissue, providing a realistic tactile experience for practising suturing techniques. Furthermore, midwives can confidently suture the model multiple times without worrying about deterioration or damage. Impressively, our director, Jane Palmer, successfully sutured it six times using two packets of suture material. Impressive Resilience and Longevity Jane Palmer’s test demonstrated the impressive resilience of the Perineal Suture Model Single Right Cut. Despite undergoing suturing six times, the model displayed minimal signs of wear and tear. Consequently, we estimate that the model can endure at least 18 suturing procedures from this initial test. For each suturing procedure, a surgeon meticulously repaired the perineal wound in three layers—specifically, the vaginal wall, perineal muscle, perineal skin, and subcutaneous tissue—utilising 2/0 Vicryl suture material. Consequently, this durability ensures that midwives can continue using the model for extensive training sessions without compromising its quality or effectiveness.
