Using a mirror helps a midwife facilitate active birth positions on land and in water. Some women find using a mirror while pushing helpful, and research indicates it may contribute positively to the labour experience—an ideal tool to include in a midwives kit. The mirror is two-sided with a silver mirror on one side and a gold mirror on the other side. The BI birthing mirror is highly reflective, making it easier to view progress in low lighting. Made from acrylic for safety reasons, as glass mirrors break easily, are dangerous and costly to replace. The acrylic birth mirror’s handle makes it easy to hold. The smooth surface is easy to clean.
